10" f4.5 spherical mirror Catadidioptric telescope.The correcting lens corrects for spherical aberration, coma, its own color, and has a power of neg. 2 so the focal length is 90" in a 48 " tube.

This telescope was featured in the October, 1962 issue of Sky and Telescope.

 

Below is a layout of the optical system

Diagonal and lens support. Elipses eliminate diffraction spikes by spreading diffracted light evenly over the entire field. Reflection of correcting lens can be seen in the mirror.
